The East Walker River (located 50 minutes north of Mammoth), is a world class fishery. This river has always attracted anglers for the possibility of hooking giant browns and rainbows. However, with the abundant stocking of brown trout over the last few years, the East Walker is a great fishery for any level of angler. Some of the best caddis and mayfly hatches in California occur from March through October on the river. From amazing dry fly fishing to serious nymphing for the big boys, the East Walker is somewhwere every angler must fish.
